Eternal Life: God’s Heartfelt Promise Beyond Death
Eternal Life: God's Heartfelt Promise Beyond Death
Whenever God speaks, He speaks some intense words—words that enter your hearts. These are words that people will not speak over you, but God will speak over you. Man can only see who you are, where you are, the color of your skin, the language you speak, and what you wear, but the Scripture says God looks at your heart and can speak words into your life that no man can ever speak. The words He speaks to you, the Scripture says, are spirits and life, meaning they come from His heart.
Many times, when we speak, we speak from our mind. If you look at a person who is very passionate, a passionate person giving a speech, you know that person is speaking from his heart. Hence, you say, “Your speech was so passionate.” Why? Because he did not just speak from his mind, nor did he speak just because he read or memorized something—he spoke from his heart. You could see that passion. So, when God speaks, He speaks from His heart. That’s why He says, “The words I speak, they are spirits.” They come from His heart, and they give your life. Everything that proceeds from the heart of God and from the Spirit of God gives your life.

The moment He said, “I forbid you to perish,” He also said, “But you shall have eternal life.” The life that God gives is not limited to a job or some business opportunity. What God wants to give you is eternal life. Humans, made in the image of God, were never created to die. However, humanity has accepted that to be normal. If you go outside, generally speaking, people will say, “You’ll die one day,” and everybody agrees. We have accepted that as normal, as inevitable. Humanity has accepted death as normal. Products such as life insurance and industries like funeral homes are built around death. But what God came to give is something different. He says, “I don’t want you to accept death as your end.”
God said, “I created man for a reason, and that is not to die, not to perish.” Through His Son, God has made a way for us to live forever. The eternal gift of God is life—eternal and immortality. That is the gift God wants to open. Man opened a Pandora’s box when he approached the knowledge of good and evil, but God opened the gift of life. He says, “I don’t want you to perish. I want you to have eternal life and enjoy living forever.” Is this too good to be true? People struggle to believe this because they’ve accepted the truth of death but have not accepted the truth about life.
The truth about life can only be accepted by heart. You have accepted the truth about death because you’ve seen it—person after person dying. You’ve seen death repeatedly, and your mind is ready to accept it. But you can only receive life by faith in Christ.
