Revelations of a Different Order: A Personal Experience

This is a revelation of a different order. I remember this was about six years ago, a time when I was in prayer and fasting. It was also a time when my dad and I were praying together. During this period, I had a visitation from an angel, and I was ushered into the realms of heaven. I saw rooms that were anointed, each carrying a significant anointing. The moment I entered these rooms, it was as if I had walked into a perfume store. Even though I didn’t carry the fragrance out with me, someone would say, “Hey, you smell different.” It was the same with the anointing I carried from those rooms. You walked out, and wherever you went, you carried that anointing. Hallelujah! It was a wonderful experience.

At that time, I remember saying, "It is an angel who reveals, but it is God who gives." I didn’t fully understand what I was saying; it just came out of me. Later, I read the scriptures and realized, "Watch this. Look at this. He sent an angel to give a revelation, but it was a revelation which God gave him." The revelation of Jesus Christ that the angel gave to John was from God. An angel can open doors, but the angel cannot give. Does that make sense? The angel does not possess the right to give. Though they are eternal beings with life, they have no access to give. It’s like they’ve been neutered, unable to produce. They can’t give because only God can. Hallelujah!

The angel was sent to John because John bore witness to the word of God. What did John bear? He bore record to the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. Why was John a record bearer? In 1 John 1:1, it says, "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the word of life." John became a bearer of record because he saw and heard things others did not. He was a testimony of things hidden from others. To be a record bearer, you need to hear what others don’t hear and see what others don’t see.

If you only see and hear what everyone else does, you cannot be a record bearer for God. You are meant to carry divine truths, to be a carrier of things not seen or heard by normal humans. For me to be built up with the word of God, I need to be hearing and seeing things beyond the natural realm. It’s this distinct perspective that allows us to bear divine record. So, remember this: you are meant to be a record bearer. Say, "I am a bearer of record."
